The “Maison”, the Vineyards,
the origin of a great champagne.
Each year, the CHAMPAGNE TRIBAUT-SCHLOESSER “Maison” (champagne house) vinifies the equivalent of 40 hectares from its family-owned vineyards combined with outside sources.
The family-owned vineyards mainly lie in the communes of Romery, Cormoyeux and Fleury la Rivière. Their south and southeast-facing slopes with clay-limestone soils, located within a remote valley of the Marne backing on to the Montagne de Reims, enable the production of some outstanding Meuniers and some very surprising Chardonnays. We also grow vines in the commune of Aÿ, a Grand Cru village in the famous Vallée de la Marne, celebrated for its Pinot Noir grapes.
Our external supply of grapes comes both from our own valley and the finest Champagne crus, such as Aÿ Grand Cru, Ecueil Premier Cru, Damery and Bassuet.
In all of these areas we have established a relationship of trust with the growers, each one committed to supplying us with the highest-quality grapes, while at the same time respecting the principles of sustainable viticulture, as we do in our own vineyards.
Infrastructure for the production of quality champagne
Champagne Tribaut-Schloesser marries tradition with technological advances to extract the very quintessence of its grapes. The pressing centre and vat room therefore comply with every required quality standard.
The seven foudres (large wooden vats) and around twenty barrels, which we have available for the ageing of reserve wines, ensure the wines mature in the Tribaut style in accordance with family traditions that have been perpetuated over four generations.
